SCREENINGS
Darius Goes West
One of the most exciting developments around DMD fundraising in recent years was the road trip taken by Darius Weems of Athens Georgia and eleven of his buddies.

We first became acquainted with "Darius Goes West" when it was named the opening film at the Longbaugh Film Festival in Portland, Oregon in March of 2007.
David Walker of the Wilamette Weekly and the Executive Director for the Longbaugh film festival in Portland, wrote a wonderful article about the film and how it affected him. Read David's article.
At this screening, we met several of the DGW road crew and Benjy Seckler of Charley's Fund.
It was such a funny and uplifting documentary and a wonderful evening that we determined to bring the documentary to Seattle. Six of the crew were able to commit to screenings and we were off and running.

See photos of the guys' visit.
Two screenings were organized for early summer in Bellevue, one at Sammamish High School, the other at Meydenbauer Center. Over $150,000 was raised for Charley's Fund from these two events.
