Gourmet Dinner
On August 24 at the home of Mary and Larry Weeks on Snoqualmie Ridge, Chef Matt Weeks and his helpers (the two Kyles), put on a fantastic six-course gourmet dinner to raise money for Charley's Fund. Over $6000 was raised! Thanks to the chef, the "kitchen help," the hosts, and all who attended. Click Matt's picture on the right for more details.

3rd Annual Run/Walk for Aidan

This year's Run/Walk on August 23rd at Wilburton Park in Bellevue, Washington was a great success. Thanks to Michelle Weertman for her amazing committment, energy, and organization. Read all about it.

Aidan's Summer
In addition to his five-year-old birthday, Aidan had a great summer. Plane rides, boat rides, birthday parties, and best of all - a new puppy! Check it out.

Kudos to Sammamish High School Students!

Incredible!!! SHS students under the leadership of the "Two Sarahs" raised over $47,000 for DMD research through Charley's Fund, and Aidan's trust fund.

They first hosted two showings of "Darius Goes West" at the high school theater. They then finished off their efforts at the high school track by sponsoring a community Walkathon on May 17th.

Walkathon for Aidan Over 1500 people attended the Walkathon on a warm Saturday afternoon. In addition to the Walk, the many fun activities, and a car wash, Jay Buhner came to share his baseball expertise, pose for photos, and sign autographs.

Way to go, Mike!!!
Many of you know this, but for those who don't, Mike Vanderhyde, a good friend who's really part of our family, has just qualified at the Coeur d'Alene triathalon, for the Kona Ironman in October. Ironman training is a grueling training process requiring much passion and commitment. But what makes it so special for us is that he's using his training and events to raise money for Charley's Fund.

Diagnosis Letter
It's been a while since Aidan was diagnosed with DMD. The diagnosis doesn't go away, but we continue to learn how to make the most out of every day. Read Mitch and Mindy's original letter about the diagnosis.
