Aidan "Sound Bites"
For an almost-four year old, Aidan has wonderful mind, a great memory, an amazing vocabulary, and a good grasp of grammar.
His late great-grandmother, Margaret Schneider, would be proud that he often uses the correct pronoun with prepositions. (Judy's Note: This was something she often pointed out affectionately when her daughter-in-law used them incorrectly.)
We'll add "Aidan sound bites" from time to time, so you can see what we mean.
April, 2007 - At His Great-Grandparents
When Mindy told him they needed to get the just-purchased milk into the refrigerator or it would spoil, he asked, "Why does milk spoil, and water not?"
June, 2007 - Twin Engine Power Boat Handling
One day while watching "Mulan," which Aidan deemed too scary, we changed to a "how-to" video called,, "Twin Engine Power Boat Handling," as a bit of a joke. To our surprise, Aidan loved it, took it home so he could see the rest, and watched it several times - learning about docking, boat procedures, etc.
At dinner with his Uncle Frank and Aunt Janet several days later, he was told that his Uncle Frank used to have a fishing boat in Alaska. Aidan very seriously told Frank, "Never yell at your first mate!"
